Born on 21st September 1979, Chris Gayle is a Jamaican cricketer who plays international cricket for the West Indies. He captained the West Indies’ Test side from 2007 to 2010. He plays domestic cricket for Jamaica, and also plays in the Indian Premier League.

Arguably the most devastating contemporary batsman, Chris Gayle is leading six-hitter in Twenty20s. He also became the first player to score a century in international Twenty20 cricket and is the only man to have scored seven or more tons in the Twenty20 format.

He has also scored two triple centuries in test matches.

He played the first three seasons of the IPL (2008 to 2010) for the Kolkata Knight Riders and Since IPL 20111 he has been playing for the Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Chris Gayle has been one of the star performers in the IPL.

In IPL 2013 he scored 708 runs and scored unbeaten 175 runs in an innings to create the record of highest individual score in IPL T20.
