Mini IPL soon in UAE, says Chairman of IPL, Rajeev Shukla

Good News for Cricket Fans across the world, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is planning to soon organize a Mini IPL in UAE.

According to media reports, Rajeev Shukla, Chairman of IPL has confrimed that BCCI is planning to organise a mini-version of the IPL tournament, with UAE being considered as the most favoured destination.

Speaking to Gulf News during the ICC Champions Trophy in Edgbaston, Rajeev Shukla said, “One concept that we are deliberating and considering is launching a mini edition of the IPL overseas. We have seen that there is huge attraction for IPL overseas. Earlier, we used to stage our Champions League T20 abroad and that slot is still vacant. We are thinking of a mini edition in that slot.”

A lot of changes are to be expected now that IPL will step into its eleventh edition, confirmed Shukla.

VIVO retained the title sponsorship rights for next five seasons of Indian Premier League i.e., from IPL 2018 to IPL 2022 for a whooping sum of Rs. 2199 Crores (approximately US $341 million), a 455% increase over the previous contract.
