Born on 6th December 1988, Ravindra Jadeja is an Indian international cricketer who plays for Indian national team in test matches, ODI’s and T20 matches. He plays for Saurashtra in the domestic cricket and also plays in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

He is a left-handed middle-order batsman and slow left-arm orthodox bowler.

Jadeja was part of the victorious Indian U-19 cricket team that won the World Cup in Malaysia in 2008. He also represented India in the 2009 and 2010 ICC World Twenty20 competitions.

He played the first two seasons of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2008 & IPL 2009) for the Rajasthan Royals (RR) followed by playing in IPL 2011 for the Kochi Tuskers Kerala (KTK) team.

Thanks to his all-round performances in IPL 2008, 2009 and 2011 he was bought by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the players auction for IPL 2012 for $2 million (approx. Rs. 9.8 Crore), making him the most expensive player of that year’s auction.

With Dhoni showing immense faith in his abilities, Jadeja has become a regular fixture in Team India across all formats.

Ahead of the players auction for IPL 2014, Jadeja was retained by CSK for Rs. 7.5 Crore.

He played for Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2014 and IPL 2015.

In players auction for IPL 2016 Ravindra Jadeja was bought by Gujarat Lions (GL) for Rs. 9.5 Crore and was retained by the team for IPL 2017. In IPL 2017 he played in 12 matches scoring 158 runs at an average of 39.50 and took 5 wicket at an average of 69.80.

In IPL 2018 he will make a comeback to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) having retained by the team for Rs. 7 Crore.
