Born on 2nd June 1989, Steve Smith (Full Name : Steven Peter Devereux “Steve” Smith) is an Australian international cricketer who plays for the Australian national team in Test matches, ODI’s and T20 matches.

He plays for the New South Wales Blues in the Australian domestic cricket and also plays in the Indian Premiere League (IPL).

An all-rounder, Smith bats right-handed and bowls right arm leg spin. He is the most promising genuine spin-bowling all-rounder of Australia. Many say him to be the next Shane Warne.

A stocky blonde leg-spinner who deceives the batsman with flight and loop, he is also a hard-hitting batsman who can keep his place in a limited-overs team on batting merit alone.

In 2009 season he was signed by the Royal Challengers Bangalore and in 2011 he was signed by the Kochi Tuskers Kerala IPL team, but had to miss the tournament due to an ankle injury.

His actual IPL debut happened in 2012 when he played for Pune Warriors India. He also played for Pune Warriors in IPL 2013.
