Born on 17th November 1982, Yusuf Pathan is an international Indian cricketer who has played for India in ODI and t20 matches. He plays for Baroda in the domestic cricket. He also plays in Indian Premier League (IPL).

He is a powerful and aggressive right-handed batsman and a right-arm offbreak bowler. Yusuf Pathan is considered to be one of the cleanest hitters of the cricket ball in the world.

He is elder brother of Irfan Pathan, who is also an Indian cricketer.

Yusuf Pathan has been associated with the IPL since its inception in 2008. He played the first three seasons of IPL (2008 to 2010) for Rajasthan Royals (RR). He impressed everyone in IPL 2008 and also won a Man-of-the-Match performance in the final helping his team to win the inaugural IPL in 2008.

On 13 March 2010, Yusuf Pathan scored a century off 37 balls, in an Indian Premier League match against Mumbai Indians. The innings also included record 11 consecutive hits to the boundary (6, 6, 6, 6, 4, 4, 6, 4, 4, 4, 4).

In the 2011 IPL auction, he was bought for a whopping $2.1 million by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Since then he is playing for KKR.

In IPL 2013 he performed well scoring 332 runs in 16 matches and also took one wicket.

In IPL 2014, he played in 16 matches for KKR scoring 268 runs at an average of 29.77.

In IPL 2015, he played in 13 matches scoring 312 runs at an average of 44.57. He also picked up 2 wickets.

In IPL 2016, he played in 15 matches scoring 361 runs at an average of 72.20 and also picked up 1 wicket.

He was retained by the team for IPL 2017.
